Aviemore is situated in the Highlands of Scotland, within the newly established Cairngorms National Park and close to the Cairngorm Mountains. Originally developed as Scotland's premier ski resort it has since grown into a multi activity, all year holiday destination. Set amidst spectacular scenery of mountains, lochs, rivers and glens it boasts facilities for walking, cycling, mountain biking, climbing, fishing, golf, horse riding, ski-ing and water sports.

Talking of awards, the Highland Wildlife Park is rated the best in the world for its wolf enclosure and is also home to many of Scotland's present native species and even some of those from the past.

Still on the subject of animals, Aviemore is home to the UK's only wild roaming Reindeer Herd, which spends most of the year on Cairngorm where you can join the herders to help feed them and spend time getting to know these majestic animals.
